UK poker player, Victoria Coren tried her luck at the 2010 World Series of Poker but lost out in the running on Day 2. Day 1 went well for her when she took home an average chip stack but this did not payoff for her the next day although she started off at the chip leader at the table.
Coren was off to good start and had managed to build her chips from $60,000 to 85,000 but his gradually diminished as she lost a few pots and eventually had to leave by level 3.
Victoria has been playing poker on a professional basis since the year 2000 and has received much admiration from the poker community when she won the 2006 European Poker Tour held in London taking home winnings worth £500,000. She made history that year when she became the fist woman to win the EPT.
Other important wins to her name included the 2005 Celebrity Poker Club tourney and the European Poker Championship where she came in second.
Victoria Coren is not much of a believer in preparation and sees poker as just a card game that is won by making the right decisions. Her winnings amount to more than $1,200,000 and she has been in many main event games cashing in on the money quite often.
Victoria Coren has also competed in the Late Night Poker, a popular gaming show based in the UK. Coren is a writer and news reporter when she is not playing poker, and has been featured on television shows like Question Time and on programmes for popular channels like the BBC and Channel 4.
She has also authored three books which includes one on poker called For Richer, For Poorer: A Love Affair with Poker. Coren is also a celebrated poker writer and has her own weekly column in the Guardian.
Blond and beautiful, and ranked as one of the top ten “poker babes” in the world, Victoria Coren is also a television presenter and has hosted many poker shows like Late Night Poker, World Poker Tour, the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour, the William Hill Poker Grand Prix 2 and the Poker Nations Cup, over the years.
Victoria Coren first learned to play poker when she was 16 and was taught by her brother. Today, Coren is one of the highest earning female poker players in the UK and goers under the screen name “Vicky Coren.”
